As you probably know we’ve been on the math side of the Covid argument from the beginning and it’s helped guide us in some important decision making for our clients’ accounts. So far that’s paid off as we had a good year in 2020. For the purposes of our blog we’ve been writing our own content, but I stumbled across this quick report from First Trust that discusses how the coronavirus numbers are collapsing between the vaccine and natural herd immunity. I’ve been saying and estimating that we can’t wait to get to May for this thing to be essentially gone and here is a math argument discussing the same.
The US has now vaccinated over 70% of people aged 75 and above with at least 1 dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. More than half of all Covid-19 deaths come from this age group so this a step in the right direction.
Bottomline, there are some solid reasons with the vaccine to be hopeful for some true sense of normalcy come end of spring/early summer. Check out the report from First Trust here.
